A Little Good News
It seems like Americans wake up each day to more bad news. This week alone the Stock Market took a nose dive over 500 points. In Minneapolis a 40 year old bridge collapsed, killing several and injuring many others.
The fighting continued in Iraq where the American casualty total is approaching 4000. Meanwhile, the military must carry on to fight battles at home and other places like Afghanistan to protect the freedoms that we all tend to take for granted.
The politicians in Congress are frequently clashing over how to solve in homeland security, economics issues, defense measures and so called social reform to name a few. All the while, the Presidential candidates are spending countless days and resources trying to impress upon the people as to why they should be the next person to hold the highest office in the land. But yet, the election is more than a year away. Where’s the sense it that?
As I said, this type of news hits many Americans when they first awake and often times it is the last thing on their minds before getting too little sleep. Does it ever end? It didn’t in the past. It hasn’t so far in my lifetime and it probably won’t change for those that will come after me.
I think what many people want is just a little relief from the strife, pressure, confusion and feeling of hopelessness once in a while. Many years ago there was a song sung that talked about the issues of that day. I remember it hit home with many then. It may have been years later since that song was popular but we as a people still face the same type of difficulties. I know, because sometimes all I want to hear is just….......................................A Little Good News!

It's hard for a "news junkie" not to get sucked in and dragged down by all the information when the overwhelming majority of it is bad.
