Know your Plumber

Well some days the problems around the house just never cease. The other day I noticed that the water heater had a small amount of water collecting under it. The garage floor drain was allowing most everything to run off and only a small amount was left behind. So, upon investigating I found that a slight drip had developed underneath. I didn’t want it to become a major problem so I looked into it further. I didn’t see much of anything but in the front and the center. I quickly wiped those areas up and hoped that that would be the end. That was not to be.

I was told that if a garage is hot it is possible that condensation might gather. That wasn’t it. It was also recommended to look near the top and at the shutoff for water there. That wasn’t it. Hence, time to call a plumber and get their opinion. That same afternoon the local plumber we use stopped by. Sure enough, the tank had developed a leak and the water heater needed to be replaced. The man said that if I got a new one he would replace it early next week. So, that’s what I did and if all goes well he will have it installed within a couple days.

Now some people might think that they could just do the job themselves. But, I am not good at things like that. Besides, the plumber is quite competent and usually does a good job. But, there are plumbers out there that aren’t; you just have to know who to call and what they are truly capable of doing.
