And Then There Was None!

No, this isn’t about Agatha Christie’s novel. This is about Printer Ink! Most people have faced it. Sometimes its a few things and other times there’s a mass amount that you have to do. When electronic files just won’t do you, have to print. The family printer is located right next to my computer. That’s mainly so the teen in the family doesn’t print everything that comes across her screen. If left to her own she would probably go through tons of paper and Printer ink.

For anyone recently who has faced the task of replacing an ink cartridge for their printer they know how expensive it can be. For ours, a new black cartridge can run nearly $20.00 with the color one somewhat higher. However, I few months back discovered a refill service locally that greatly reduced my costs for printer cartridges. The business goes by the name of Cartridge City. One of the nice things about them is that they have drop off locations in many stores within a 5-10 mile radius. You drop off one day and get a replacement within two business days. But, here is the wonderful thing I’ve found. The price is about 50% less than retail. That’s right 50% off.

What they do is take your empty cartridge and recondition it to like new and most times add more ink than when it was originally filled. Then they test it, package it and ship it back to the location where you dropped it off. You then simply stop by, pay for it and you are on your way. Plus, if you don’t want to or have time to drop it off they will send you envelopes and you create the entire process by mail. There is a slightly higher charge for the mailing service but with the price of fuel, it seems to be worth it.

I have also found that having an extra printer cartridge of black and color is a terrific idea. Because of this service, I should never have to be without a backup printer cartridge. It offers me the chance to keep one of each on the shelf or having them in process for refilling. So, with convenience and savings combined, why not. That seems like a good deal in my book. So, go ahead check them out!

Not at all. I'm just glad to find lower priced cartridges.
