Indiana Cowboy’s Snow Day
It's no surprise to anyone living in the Midwest that it snows a lot during this time of year. I strongly dislike the snow and everything that goes with it. The constant shoveling, cleaning off of the vehicle, and difficulty in traveling in that white stuff only adds to my feelings. Yeah, it's fair to say that my stance is over-the-top in dislike when it comes to snow.
For the last day or so though it has been snowing tremendously and causing difficulty in getting to and from work. So, after cleaning off the vehicle and driveway this morning I'd had enough; I decided to not go into work at all today. I usually don't take that approach about work with respect to the weather conditions. I think of myself as a responsible individual, one who goes to work no matter what happens. I'm the type who puts the proper priorities in perspective and does the right thing. Work is one of those priorities that I put on the top of my list. I am not so driven where I’d be considered a workaholic. But, I know that work is important and take it seriously.
But, I guess the snow today was just too overwhelming for me and prompted me to decide to not go anywhere including work. Forty-five miles one way is a long trek to endure regardless of the weather conditions. That is especially true in inclement weather. I figured since the snow will be persisting and the winds are expected to pick up throughout the day it was a good choice. Who knows what I would have had to face on a return trip tonight. I do feel a little guilty about not going but this time I'm going to just get passed that do it without looking back.
Tomorrow is a new day! I will get up like normal and resume the morning routine and work schedule. But, for today I'm dubbing this "The Indiana Cowboy’s Snow Day".
